CONSOL Energy Excellence in Education Grants

Projects for the CONSOL Energy Excellence in Education Fund are intended to be small grants to assist teachers and/or schools to supplement supplies and equipment for classroom activities, and/or teacher professional development activities that will directly benefit the students in the classroom(s) and/or school(s).

Preference will be given to projects which are not necessarily covered by the school budget, or would otherwise be supported by out-of pocket expenses by the teacher(s). Grant awards will range from $250 – $500 per request.

E.I.T.C. Innovative Education Grants

No Funding for the 2026-2027 School Year

The Community Foundation of Greene County is approved as an Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Educational Improvement Organization (EIO). EITC EIO contributions support grants for innovative, advanced curriculum projects that benefit students in public schools.

An “innovative educational program” is an advanced academic or similar program that enhances the curriculum or academic program of the public school, but that is not part of the regular academic program of a public school.

Examples of projects in Greene County have included grants for computer labs, GIS software, sound and lighting systems, Envirothon, Smartboards, Forensics curriculum, Greenhouse construction and curriculum, Natural Gas Exploration, Production and Geology curriculum, Groundwater Simulation software, Artist in Residence projects, EMT Certification curriculum and more. TEACH Grant Award

The To Educate All Children Honestly (TEACH) Grant Award was established by the Gensler Family, a family of retired Central Greene School Districts teachers, who wish to offer fellow teachers a path to develop new curriculum opportunities which enhance their teaching and student learning. The TEACH Grant Award will be awarded annually to one classroom teacher (Pre-K – 12) in the Central Greene School District selected through a competitive grant application process.

The TEACH Grant Award Grant must enhance and facilitate student learning in the classroom through innovative ideas, programs or projects. Creative and innovative projects can be focused in any subject area and must be curriculum-based. The grant award may be used for activities such as, transportation, field trips, speaker fees, books, videos, kits, and classroom equipment, so long as they are integral to the curriculum. The grant award may not be used to supplant funds that are or would otherwise be funded through the school budget or other grants or means, or for projects started prior to the grant award.

Classroom Teachers in Central Greene School District (Pre-K through 12), including specialty teachers and guidance counselors, may apply. The Grant is NOT available to administrators.

Complete the CFGC TEACH Grant Award Application with a list of up to 3 wishes for your classroom students. Include a description of each wish along with an estimated budget for each wish. Projects may be for one classroom, multiple classrooms, a grade level, or a segment of a grade level or class. Multiple teachers may collaborate on a project (wish), but only one teacher may be the applicant.

One $2,000 grant will be awarded to one teacher. Grants will be paid to the school for purchase of supplies, equipment. The Award will be announced at the end of the school year. Projects will begin with the next school year.

Grant applications will be accepted in 2026 until April 16, 2026.
