Projects for the CONSOL Energy Excellence in Education Fund are intended to be small grants to assist teachers and/or schools to supplement supplies and equipment for classroom activities, and/or teacher professional development activities that will directly benefit the students in the classroom(s) and/or school(s).
Examples of projects in Greene County have included grants for computer labs, GIS software, sound and lighting systems, Envirothon, Smartboards, Forensics curriculum, Greenhouse construction and curriculum, Natural Gas Exploration, Production and Geology curriculum, Groundwater Simulation software, Artist in Residence projects, EMT Certification curriculum and more. The To Educate All Children Honestly (TEACH) Grant Award was established by the Gensler Family, a family of retired Central Greene School Districts teachers, who wish to offer fellow teachers a path to develop new curriculum opportunities which enhance their teaching and student learning. The TEACH Grant Award will be awarded annually to one classroom teacher (Pre-K – 12) in the Central Greene School District selected through a competitive grant application process.
