Community Foundation of Greene County, Donors Support Blueprints Home Delivered Meals Program

Blueprints is pleased to announce new funding support for its Greene County Home Delivered Meals program through the Community Foundation of Greene County. The recent funding was generously made possible (in part) by grants from the Community Foundation through both the James and Jackie Campbell Family Fund and the Peters Family Memorial Fund.

The Jackie Fedorko Marisa Medical Scholarship for Waynesburg University established at CFGC

The Jackie Fedorko Marisa Medical Scholarship for Waynesburg University was recently established by Mrs. Jackie Marisa, her son, Kurt Marisa, and her daughter, Autumn Marisa Lexer at the Community Foundation of Greene County (CFGC). Upon being fully endowed, this fund will provide a scholarship to one High School Senior who graduates from a Greene County public school, plans to attend Waynesburg University, and major in a medical field (Pre-Med, Nursing, Athletic Training, etc.). Born and raised in the Greene County coal town of Moffitt along the Monongahela River, and a graduate of Mapletown HS, Jackie desires to make a difference…

CFGC and Career & Technology Center Announce Over $235,000 in Grants and In-Kind Donations Received

The Community Foundation of Greene County (CFGC) and the Greene County Career & Technology Center (CTC) recently announced over $235,000 in grants and in-kind donations were received to benefit the following programs at the CTC: Electrical Occupations, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and the CDL Class-A training programs. A grant of $199,000 was received from The Heinz Endowments to expand and increase the CDL Class-A training classes, and hire additional staff for the LPN program to meet the demand for more LPN nurses in our region. Thanks to a big-hearted community of donors, Corner Cupboard Food Bank and The Way Community Center of Greene County just wrapped up another successful season of giving kids what they need to succeed. United Way of Greene County found a good fit for its longtime Stuff the Bus project when they chose to pass it on to The Way Community Center, with its strong ties to the community. CFGC Announces Over $130,000 in Donations Received to Support Weekend Backpack Food Program

The Community Foundation of Greene County (CFGC) received donations from individuals, businesses and foundations to assist K-12 students in all Greene County schools. A total of 12 organizations participated in donating–Waynesburg Lions Club, A.C.T.S. of Greene County, First Federal Savings and Loan Association, Community Bank, Greene County Association of School Retirees, FirstEnergy Foundation, Consol Cares Foundation, EQT Foundation, Essential Foundation (Peoples Gas), NiSource Foundation (Columbia Gas), DT Midstream, the William and Shirley Hanley Weekend Backpack Food Fund, Waynesburg University Bonner Scholars–as well as a few anonymous donors.
